KAYLA ROBINSON

Kayla Robinson is a 22-year-old Registered Nurse and a proud native of Fort Worth, Texas. She earned both her Associate and Bachelor of Science in Nursing degrees from Langston University, Oklahoma’s only Historically Black College and University (HBCU).  At Langston, Kayla was actively involved in campus life, holding titles such as Miss Black and Old Gold for the Beta Kappa Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and 77th Miss Langston University.

Currently, Kayla serves as a Registered Nurse in a Level 1 trauma center, where she applies her passion for patient care. Throughout her leadership roles at Langston, Kayla consistently championed her platform, "The Journey to Chain Breaking," which focuses on bridging the gap between mental and emotional wellness, particularly within the African-American community, and advocates for the importance of counseling services.

In Fall 2025, Kayla plans to pursue a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree, taking the next step toward her goal of becoming a leader in healthcare. She aspires to own an Orthopedic Surgery practice with a special focus on the care of current and former athletes in the African-American community.

As a former track and field athlete and two-time Junior Olympian, Kayla brings a competitive spirit and a deep understanding of the physical and mental resilience needed in both sports and healthcare. Outside of her professional life, Kayla enjoys staying active, experimenting with new recipes, exploring new restaurants, online shopping, and discovering innovative home gadgets.

Kayla’s journey also includes her involvement in pageantry, which has played a significant role in her personal development, shaping her into the confident, driven young woman she is today.
